'Spook Us!!' - Halloween at Paperbabe

Hiya Happy Spooky Halloween Wishes To You All!

Over at Paperbabe our New Challenge today is 'Spook Us' eeeks so much fun all you need to enter is at least 1 Paperbabe Stamp or a Digi from the Shop you could win an amazing prize! Go on over to visit the Challenge Blog to see the Design Team examples and to see all the details about the Challenge.

For my Design Team example I have used 'Dillon Magic' this gorgeous stamp set is available in both Clear Stamp, Red Rubber and Digi Stamp - he really is so gorgeous

I have coloured him up using Derment Inktense Pencils and some Spectrum Noir Pencils for a change from copics as my poor pencils were feeling a bit neglected - I really enjoyed the change of medium

For something different to a card example I decorated a small paper bag for my eldest son for Trick or Treat tonight - he didnt want a treat bag at first but changed his mind when he saw it (I had ran out of the larger bags I used for his Brother and Sisters)

I chose some Digi Papers which I printed and trimed down to fit the front of the bag, I backed them onto Scratched Silver Board to strength the bag front. I stamped around the edge of the blue striped paper using a Large Watercolour Splat from the 'Watercolour Alphabet' stamps set. I also used this stamp to stamp around the edge of the Image topper.

The sentiment I stamped using the 'Watercolour Alphabet Capitals' stamp set.

To finish the bag I tied a ribbon through a skelleton charm and tied this to the bag handle.

I hope you like my Treat Bag and will visit again soon

Patchwork Pretties - Challenge entry for Creative Knockouts

Today Sassy Studio Designs are sponsoring a Challenge over at Creative Knockouts the challenge theme is 'Patchwork Pretties' so which Sassy Image did I chose? Sally Honey of course for her beautiful Patchwork Dress. I love her she is so spooky but in this card I have softened her with some pretty pastels to show that she isnt just for Halloween. I teamed he up with a lovely sentiment stamp from Visible Image about Friends being a Patchwork - such a lovely sentiment.

I coloured her to match my papers using Copic Markers

Hair: C8, C6, C4
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Eyes & Socks: B24, B21
Eyeshadow: YG63
Lips: R24, R22, R20
Shoes: C6, C4
Dress: YR04, YR02, R22, R20, YR000, B24, B21, C1, YG63, YG61

The papers I used were offcuts from my stash which I pieced together to form a patchwork background. I used a Halloween foam stamp set for the webs and spider, I used a quilted embossing folder for the layer behind the topper and I have used some silver mirror board for the matting. I used a piece of ric-rac ribbon and a silver spider charm in the top corner of the card. I added some dimension and texture with 2 circular die-cuts cut from pearlescent cardstock. A few gems from my stash finished the card nicely.

I hope you like my card and will check out the Challenge over at Creative Knockouts.

The Challenge Theme is 'Sketch/Lace & Pearls' you can chose to follow the theme or the sketch or challenge yourself by following both.

For my Sassy Studio Design's DT entry I have used both as I love a Challenge

I have used Digital Papers from my stash with layers of Pink Mirror Board.

I rounded the corners of my 8x8 card blank, backing paper and mirror board.

I have used pale pink organza ribbon and crochet lace for the 2 borders from the sketch I followed.

The square die i used is from Tonic, I fussy cut the Image out and fixed to the die cut panel to form the square in the centre of the sketch.

I used a circle sentiment stamp and some circular dies to make one of the circles to the side of  the sketch, with a big fabric flower and pearl for the other circle from the sketch.

Paperbabe Picture Inspiration Challenge

Today begins a New Challenge over at Paperbabe Stamps Blog and the theme is a Colour Picture Inspiration and it's perfect for this time of year

I wanted to upcycle an Instant Mash Tin to use as a craft tool pot so using some lush Paperbabe Stamps and some of my craft stash this is what I did

I have used 'Mayleedee Witchily' stamp for the main image on my project which I have coloured using some of my Copic Markers

Hair: R27, R17, R08, YR07
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Eyes & Book: YG67, YG63
Lips: E09, E04
Hat: E44, E43, E41
Blouse & Hatband: E44, E43
Skirt: E43, E41
Cat: N5, N3, R02
Background: YR24, YR23, YR21

I trimmed a large piece of cream cardstock which I stamped using the Leaf stamp and some of the smaller Conker elements from the 'Completely Conkers' set in various shades of distress inks to match the colours in the Inspiration Picture, I also added a few speckles using pale distress ink and the small splat stamp from the 'Watercolour Alphabet' set.

I wrapped a strip of frayed burlap around the top of the tin for texture

Ive diecut the coloured Image using a circle die and matted this onto a diecut doily circle, I attahed this circlar topper to the front of the covered tin and embellished using some colour matching paper flowers and some diecut flourishes. Lastly I punched a tag wich I tapped on the sentiment from the 'Mayleedee Witchily' set and the Autum sentiment from the 'Completely Conkers' set

Don't forget to join in the Paperbabe Challenge over on the Blog and why not join the Facebook Paperbabe Fan Group

Paperbabe New October Stamp Release Showcase day #2

Hiya it is such an exciting week for us all at Paperbabe Stamps we are getting to Showcase the New Release Stamps for October

Today is the turn of the New 'Watercolour Alphabet' stamp sets there are two sets Uppercase and Lowercase and they are gorgeous

I had a lot of inky fun with these stamps and my Distress Inkpads I love how the letters work together with their watercoloured partners - I love all the paint splats and elements too so much fun x

My Watercolour Alphabet example

Im a bit addicted to making my own backing papers using stamps so I have done that again for this card using some of the smaller paint splats from the lowercase set. I then attached this paper to a scallop edge cardblank.
The main topper is stamped onto Watercolour Card I love the texture of this card and thought it would work lovely with the stamp set.
I have used a few shades Distress Inks on this card some bright and some muted... Milled Lavender, Spun Sugar, Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass and Worn Lipstick.
I stamped a few watercolour splats in opposite corners and then i used the layer up hearts and the heart outline in the other two opposite corners along with the tiny watercolour drops. The main section I stamped the larger Spritz stamp from 'Spritz and Speckle' set twice in the middle in 2 different distress ink colours. I then stamped the Water colour letters and then the fineline letters from the set over the top. I doodled lines around the outside of the topper using a fine ZIG liner pen.
It is a simple card layout but i wanted to show off the simplicity of the set

I hope you like my card please visit again tomorrow as I have another Showcase Make lined up for you

Fangtastic - my DT make for The Stamping Chef Challenge

Good Morning it's Wednesday and that means the start of a New Anything Goes Challenge over at The Stamping Chef BLOG go on over and visit to see the wonderful examples by the very talented Design Team x x

I have a folder full of coloured up Images from when I was one of The Stamping Chef Shop 'Colourists' so I chose one of these Images to use for my Challenge Example - such a shame for her not be made into a card - my 'Bite Me' image is a lot larger than I would colour normally for a card so she really is the focal point of this card so I havent added too many layers behind her.

I chose the backing paper as it has red roses on just like in the Image I layered this up with Black Mirror Board which i have attached to an A5 cardblank I made from a piece of Centura Pearl cardstock.

The Image is coloured using Copic Markers

Hair C10, C9, C7, C5, C3
Skin: E02, E00, E000
Shirt, Skulls & Eyeshadow: C3, C1, C0, 0
Leaves: YG67, YG63, YG61
Roses, Lips: R59, R39, R37

I stamped one of my new Paperbabe Watercolour stamps (from Watercolour Alpha set) which I stamped around the edge of the Image using Memento Ink 'London Fog' this has given a paint splotched edge to the Topper. I then layered this using Black Mirror Board and attached to the Card Front using 1mm Foam Tape.

I die cut a Circular Die from Black Mirror board which I then cut in half and attached these to the card front tucked just under the topper and off the edge of the card. I die cut 2 Flourishes using Dark Green Mirror Board and fixed these to the black circular die cuts and layered some red roses, red rosebuds and red lillies using Glue Gel to frame the topper. The spiraled vines I made using a few pieces of flower wire wrapped around a paintbrush handle and then secured into the flowers by tucking behind them into the glue gel.

The sentiment is from a sheet printed from a download from Glamoureyes - I have spotted the typo in the sentiment but I had already attached this so I'm not too worried

I hope you like my card and that you will be inspired to visit and take part in The Stamping Chef Challenge - there is a prize of 3 Images of own choice for the winner

October New Stamps Showcase #1 over at Paperbabe Stamps

Oh so exciting today we have a chance to show off some of the New Stamps for October over at Paperbabe Stamps Blog - do please visit there to see more Samples from our Kim and the Design Team

The new stamps are so much fun to use and all can be used to layer up and over-stampI had a lot og fun with them xx

Today we get to show off to you

'Completely Conkers'

& 'Spritz and Speckles'

I had a lot of fun with these two sets I love the way they can be layered up and pieced together any way that you choose

My Example for 'Spritz and Speckles'

This simple birthday card I made using some of the stamps from the set layered over each other in opposite corners using 3 colours of Chalky Ink Pads (from my stash) I picked the colours to match a few papers I chose to use from a dark arty pad of backing papers I had but never know what to use them for - A few strips cut into banners and a piece used as a backing sheet were just enough (so I have plenty left for more cards later) I chose a lovely scallop edge cardblank but used this turned to the side so scallops are along the sides and bottom of the card. One of the banners I created using the border strip from the 'Fabulous Everything' stamp set from Paperbabe.

The border I cut from an offcut of micro corrugated paper from my offcuts box (a new habit I have taken up to use them up I sont like to waste anything) - the sentiment I made using some of the word stamps from the 'Fabulous Everything' stamp set.

I layered all the pieces together using all purpose glue and then wrapped some frayed burlap (from my stash) around the whole thing before fixing to the cardblank with 1mm thick foam tape.

My Example for 'Completely Conkers'

I really enjoyed making this Birthday Card this is such a cute set and can be used for so many occasions for absolutely anyone especially the Boys and Men in your life I know my Son's would love this one a lot.
I made a backing paper using the Leaf stamp from the set and some Autumn colours of Ink Pads from my stash. once dry I layered this paper using brown mirror board, wrapped some frayed burlap around the panel then fixed to a scallop cardblank using 1mm foam tape.
Using a smaller piece of stamping card I stamped 2 of the Conkers from the set using Chalky Ink Pads (I love that you get the two sections for each conker so you can layer colours easily), I stamped the conker strings, knots and bows using Memento Ink Pad in black. In opposite corners I stamped the leaf again with the Autumn colours Ink Pads. I then stamped the Smash-Rebound stamp using pale chalky inkpad to make the conkers look like they have just smacked together.
To finish I stamped the sentiment from the set on 'Smashing Birthday' the words are close together in the set to I inked the stamp first then wiped off the ink from Birthday so I could stamp just 'Smashing' first, next I stamped 'Autumn' just underneath, the repeated the ink and wiped off Smashing to stamp just 'Birthday' just underneath Autumn. (make sure to wipe all the ink off the word you don't want to stamp first or you will get marks on your card)

I hope you like what I have created using the new stamps thank you for stopping by see you again soon

hugs Kerrie
