'For the Girls' Blog Challenge Entry

I could not resist entering my friend Sheila's Blog Challenge when i saw the theme was 'For the Girls' i thought pink, flowers and a fairy would be nice and pretty xx

I have used up a few more offcuts as part of my ongoing personal challenge to use up the pieces i keep for just in case lol like we all do x

I chose a piece of pink stripey paper and cut this to a few mm shorter than the card blank i made from a piece of centura pearl left over from an envelobox, i matt &layered the pink stripey paper with a piece of holographic starburst cardstock by creata and wrapped a piece of satin edges organza ribbon around this base part of the card and fixed to the front of the cardblank with a thin layer of glue gel. i then tied a bow with same ribbon and attached this with glue gel xx

I then cut a strip of pale pink centura paper to the length of the pink stripey paper and attached this to the card front.

The image is a whimsy stamp that i got free from a magazine in the summer i love her cute face and flowing hair. i stamped her onto a small scrap of neenah cardstock and coloured with promarkers - except her wings which i coloured with pink and clear sakura stardust pens and then blended the pen lines out with waterbrush  for a pale sparkly look. i matt&layered this topper with pink stripey paper and the a piece of centura cardstock edged pink promarker. i fixed this to cardfront with foam tape.

i stamped and die cut a sentiment circle from pink gem stamps, and then die cut a scallop circle matt from a scrap of coredinations dusky pink cardstock. fixed to card front with foam pads xx

I chose some paper roses and paper rose buds to match the colours in the coloured image and fixed at the corner of the topper with some fabric leaves using glue gel. added some punches flowers using my multiflower punch by creata lastly adding some pink gems from my stash xx

I hope you like my card and i send my best wishes and luck to all the entrants to the challenge

pop over to Sheila's Blog if you havent already to have a peek at the other entries and maybe have a go xx

Visible Image April Challenge Entry - get stamping xx

I have been meaning to enter the challenge blog but keep missing out due to my absent mindedness lol

but today i made a card specifically for the Challenge 'Get Stamping'

i decided to get really inky with this card

for the main image i chose 'Isabella' from the Visible Image character range i love her and she was part of my very first purchase from them and ive been hooked ever since.

In keeping with my personal challenge i have only used offcuts for this card as i decided to try to use up some of these pieces i keep for just in case.

for the card blank ive used an off cut of centura pearl cardstock cut to just a few mm larger than the fancy egded piece of card (which is half of a fancy cardblank - i often cut these in half to make these special packs go further) - i inked this fancy piece all over with Antique Linen (Tim Holtz) I then stamped the Small Butterfly stamp from Visible Image twice on the blank covered with 2 masks i made from Eclipse Tape, then stamped over the whole background with the Bront Border stamp from Visible Image. I then took away the masks and traced over the butterflies with a Vesamark Pen poured over clear embossing powder and heated with a heat tool. I inked around the edges with Walnut Stain (Tim Holtz). ive matt&layered this pieces with a piece of dark gold mirror board (from Creata).

For the main topper I stamped Isabella using Rich Cocoa (Memento) and then coloured her with distress inks (tea dye, antique linen, walnut stain, tattered rose and victorian velvet) using a waterbrush pen. i then masked her with Eclipse Tape and inked over the topper with Antigue Linen. I removed mask and stamped the Grunge Flourish from Visible Image around the edges. I then inked the edges with Walnut stain matt&layered with brass mirror board (Creata) i attaached this with foam tape at a jaunty angle.

The Sentiment i stamped on another offcut of cardstock, inked over with Antique Linen ink and round edges with Tea Dye matt&layered with the brass morror board and attached with more foam tape. To finish i added a few gold gems from my stash.

I am entering this card into the challenge over at Visible Image Blog April Challenge Page

Been a while but im back xxx

Phew a busy few weeks ive had trying to fit it all in has been a bit tough - but today i promised myself i would catch up with everything and so far so good so here is a few cards ive made recently

card 1 - Visible Image - made today with - small butterfly, Bronte border and Inspire (from Imagine, dream inspire seet)

I set myself a challenge over on my Kerrie's Kraft Korner group on facebook tha my next few cards would be made by only using the offcuts i have been collecting and keeping fro just in case (we all do this but do we ever get around to using them - not always lol)

For this card i have used

an offcut of centura pearl cardstock folded in half to make my own size cardblank
a few offcuts of dark brown mirror card (creata)
a few off cuts of white cardstock
and a piece of cereal box

ive also used Tim Holtz distress inks in Antique Linen and Tea Dye, clear embossing powder, Memento inkpad in Rich Cocoa, a die by Cheery Lynn, a multi flower punch by Creata and a few gems from my stash

I used the Bronte Border stamp to stamp repeatedly to make a back ground inked this first with antique linen all over then the tea dye around the edges - cut this a few mm smaller than the cardblank and matt&layered with the brown Mirror Board, - there were two offcut strips of this bronte border so i used one as a border matt&layered with brown mirror board again down one side of the card and the other strip i punched with one of the flowers in the Multi Flower Punch i inked all of these flowers and the strip with both colours of distress inks again.

I cut the die using another offcut of brown mirror board and attached this to the corner of the card and then added the small flowers which i had shaped with an embossing tool on a foam mat.

For the butterflys i first stamped them onto the back of a piece of cereal box, inked one with antique linen, one with tea dye and left one without, i used an embossing pen on one of the butterflys then dipped into embossing powder and heated til molten i repeated with all 3 butterflys, but them out and attached to the card with foam pads.

Lastly I stamped the Inspire moto onto another offcut of white card, inked over with antique linen, inked edges with Tea Dye trimmed samller then matt&layered with brown mirror board and attached to the card with foam pads.

i embellished the card with gold gems from my stash xx

I wanted to show that with a few beautiful stamps even a few offcuts can make a pretty card

i hope you like my post today and i hope you visit again tomorrow for a few more photos of cards ive made recently with these amazing stamps availible from Visible Image you can see amazing samples by their super talented Design Team over on their facebook group below.
