DT Kerrie - Love Isn't Complicated

Hiya and Welcome to my Monday post for Bee Crafty

I haven't been able to get much crafting done over the last week as we have had a virus at home, with me, Hubby and 4 kiddies its been awful as one after the other was ill (why not all at once??)

So today I am sharing with you one of my Samples from a previous Hochanda Show where Beverley showed us all her new Banksy Inspired Series of stamps that pair up beautifully with the previous Banksy series - I love the Boy and Girl in the set I chose to use - the Boy is trying to be all romantic and the Girl is really to fight - so so funny and cool

I used the Boy & Girl and a Sentiment from the 'Love Hurts' set.

I teamed them up with some distress inks and some backing paper off-cuts from my stash to make a quick but effective card.

I added some details using a border punch and some flat back pearls that I coloured to match the card using an alcohol marker

Bee Crafty DT Make - The Maid

I can not get over how fast April is flying by - it is a blink and you miss it month 

Today I am sharing with you a make from last months Hochanda Show

Our Beverley is back on Hochanda tomorrow at 11am & 6pm

and I can not wait to see her Inspring Demo's 

 For this make I have used the Maid and a Sentiment from the 'The Maid' Banksy Inspired Stamp Set

I wanted to keep this card simple so the Stamps take centre stage

I stamped the Maid onto Linen Cardstock using black archival ink, I then inked the edges using Tattered Rose distress ink and then Walnut Stain - I matted the image onto daark brown mirror board

For the card front I chose a simple dot backing paper from my stash which I trimmed to size and matted onto dark mirror board. I had a sliver of the backing paper left so I matted that onto dark mirror board and fixed to the side of the cardfront, I then punched a lacey border from a strip of linen cardstock and fixed that alongside

I stamped the Sentiment onto an offcut of linen cardstock using black archival ink, matted with dark brown mirror board and fixed this into the bottom corner of the card front. I fixed the Image topper to the card front using foam tape.

To finish I added some flat back pearls that I coloured using a dark brown alcohol marker

Banksy - Greatness Girl - for Bee Crafty

Hiya and welcome to my Friday post for Bee Crafty

This week I got inspired by and inky/textured piece I saw on pinterest - So I chose to use some polyfiller, inks and one of my New Stamps 'Banksy - Greatness Girl', I really like this stamp and I think this brickwork template was a good choice for the background

First I cut a piece of watercolour cardstock to a few mm smaller than my 7x7 card blank. I love the texture of watercolour card and to bring this out I ran a distress ink pad in 'Antique Linen' over the cardstock. I then chose a brickwork template and applied polyfiller with a small pallet knife, not over the whole of the cardstock but roughly through the middle for an exposed brickwork look.

After letting the polyfiller dry I used a sponge and lemon juice around the edges of the card and to stamp the 'Large Branch' over the top left corner. I dried the lemon juice with a heat gun because when heated with a heat gun the lemon juice burns nicely to create a dark aged effect (smells nice too).

I stamped 'Greatness Girl' using archival ink - and the stamp is so great I got a perfect imprint even over the texture.

I inked through the 'Metal Work Alpha' inkable template using Black Soot distress ink to add to the graphitti look of the project. I also inked the edges using the Black Soot ink. I handpainted some ground under her feet using Chalky Finish paint in charcoal.

To finish the project I painted on mod podge, waited for it to dry and then fixed the project to mirror board before attaching to the card blank.
