Darker 'Mayleedee' - for Paperbabe Stamps

Hiya and Welcome to my Blog

Today is the start of a New Challenge over at Paperbabe Stamps and the Theme is a favourite 'Anything Goes' which means you can create anything you like to enter

Visit the Paperbabe Stamps Blog to see more Details about the Challenge and see the Fabulous Design Team's examples for the Challenge they are all stunning

The Challenge Prize is Amazing but even better if you use a Paperbabe Stamp on your project

For my make I stepped out of my usual Pretty & Feminine Style and created something a little Darker using the Gorgeous 'Mayleedee' red rubber stamp

First I stamped 'Mayleedee' red rubber stamp onto a piece of smooth cardstock and then onto masking paper and cut out to form a mask which I then stuck over 'Mayleedee' to keep her ink free for colouring later.

The background was created using distress inks and stencils. The edging was made using the Speckle stamp from the 'Spritz & Speckle' set plus the Flower Outline & Flower Solid stamps from the 'Oriental Zen' set. 'Seedless Preserves' Distress Ink was used through the 5mm Dot stencil from the 'Polka Dot' stencil set.

I chose the 'Light From Within' Art Quote red rubber stamp as the sentiment. Once pulling the mask off from 'Mayleedee' I coloured her using Copic Markers.

I took a 6x6 cardblank in linen cardstock which i inked over the edges using the same stamps and inks as the background of the project

To finish my make I backed my project onto black cardstock and then mounted it onto the 6x6 cardblank from before

The Challenge ends on June 24th 2016 so do get those entries in soon we would love to see them

Thank You so much for visiting my Blog today - Please do visit again soon for more Project from me

Paperbabe Challenge - Midway Reminder - Sketch

Hiya and Welcome to my Blog

I have been ill over the last week with a chest infection so Ive been quite behind with all my work - so I am posting a Midway Reminder today for the Paperbabe Stamps latest Challenge

It is a Sketch Challenge - the Sketch below is our Guideline for this Challenge - I followed the Sketch pretty much exactly to show how you could use the Sketch to create your entry for the challenge - you could also swap the flowers for any topper/image that you chose - you could also turn or flip the Sketch to fit how you would like to work

I really love Sketch Challenges they are brilliant as an inspiration if you have a dip in your crafty mojo - or for beginners who are just learning how to layout and balance their cardmaking/crafty projects

Here is my example for the Challenge

I started with some simple matt and layering using some pretty burgundy backing paper from my stash and a linen effect 6x6 card blank i rounded all the corners. I then trimmed a piece of stamping card and chose a few of my Paperbabe Stamps to create the flowers, sentiment and the spray effect background

The Paperbabe Stamps I chose to use are...

Paint Spray - from 'Spritz & Speckles' clear stamp set
Group Spots - from 'Birthday Wishes' clear stamp set
Single Spot (freckle) from 'Female Mini Face' clear stamp set
Roses & Leaves (cut up separately) from 'Rose Border' red rubber stamp set
You Are Loved sentiment 'You Quote - You Are Loved' red rubber stamp

I stamped the You Are Loved sentiment onto a strip of white card which I then cut into a Banner which I then doodled a faux stitching border. I matted the banner onto burgundy mirror board

I stamped the Paint Spray stamp twice using grey ink onto the stamping card I had prepped earlier. I then stamped the Spots stamps using the grey ink.

I fixed the banner to the card using 1mm foam tape to raise it up and add dimention.

I stamped 2 sizes of the Roses using black ink, coloured them using my Copic Markers and fussy cut them out. I fussy cut out a smaller layer from one of the larger rose wich I attached on top of the other one with glue gun to create a decoupage layer. I layered up the leaves and roses to the card and then fixed the card toppper I have created to the card front using foam tape to raise it up from the rest of the layers.

Thank You so much for visiting my Blog today I hope I have inspired you to enter the Challenge you have 1 week to get your entries in over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog

Mayleedee Riding Hood - Paperbabe

Hiya and welcome to my Blog today I am sharing with you a make for the Paperbabe Stamps Challenge - I was unwell when the challenge begun so this is a reminder post to promote the challenge for my Teamies

The challenge is a Picture Inspiration - I have chosen my colours to match those in the picture below

Such gorgeously warm colours I really like them together

I chose to use 'Mayleedee Little Red' and I coloured her using Copic Markers and 2 Promarkers

Hair: E49, E29. E39
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Blush: R20
Lips: E04
Hood/Cloak & Eyes: Twilight Sky & Polar Blue promarkers
Apron: C2, C1, C0, 0
Dress & Basket: Y26, Y23
Boots: E49, E39
Laces: N9

I have stamped and inked around the edges using a few stamps from Paperbabe Sets... Baubles from 'Bottle Brush Trees', Bubbles & Peonie from 'Oriental Zen' - using Distress Inks 'Weathered Wood', 'Scattered Straw' and 'Antique Linen'

The cream panel in background I have used the same stamps but also the large spray from 'Spritz & Speckles' using just the 'Scattered Straw' and 'Antique Linen' inks. I also used Versamark embossing ink and Ranger 'Seafoam White' embossing powder to add texture

The Teal panel on the cardfront is teal Coredinations cardstock and a swirl embossing folder from Docrafts which I then sanded back to show the paler teal core

I matt & layered using Brown mirror board and wrapped a brown organza ribbon around the blue layer and cardblank before layering up the the other panels at jaunty angles.

I chose co-ordinating paper flowers and a resin flower and layer these up at the corners of the image

The sentiment stamp is from the 'Mayleedee Little Red' set

thank you so much for visiting today and I hope you will check out the Paperbabe Stamps Blog and check out the lush projects by the Design Team

Paperbabe New October Stamp Release Showcase day #2

Hiya it is such an exciting week for us all at Paperbabe Stamps we are getting to Showcase the New Release Stamps for October

Today is the turn of the New 'Watercolour Alphabet' stamp sets there are two sets Uppercase and Lowercase and they are gorgeous

I had a lot of inky fun with these stamps and my Distress Inkpads I love how the letters work together with their watercoloured partners - I love all the paint splats and elements too so much fun x

My Watercolour Alphabet example

Im a bit addicted to making my own backing papers using stamps so I have done that again for this card using some of the smaller paint splats from the lowercase set. I then attached this paper to a scallop edge cardblank.
The main topper is stamped onto Watercolour Card I love the texture of this card and thought it would work lovely with the stamp set.
I have used a few shades Distress Inks on this card some bright and some muted... Milled Lavender, Spun Sugar, Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass and Worn Lipstick.
I stamped a few watercolour splats in opposite corners and then i used the layer up hearts and the heart outline in the other two opposite corners along with the tiny watercolour drops. The main section I stamped the larger Spritz stamp from 'Spritz and Speckle' set twice in the middle in 2 different distress ink colours. I then stamped the Water colour letters and then the fineline letters from the set over the top. I doodled lines around the outside of the topper using a fine ZIG liner pen.
It is a simple card layout but i wanted to show off the simplicity of the set

I hope you like my card please visit again tomorrow as I have another Showcase Make lined up for you

October New Stamps Showcase #1 over at Paperbabe Stamps

Oh so exciting today we have a chance to show off some of the New Stamps for October over at Paperbabe Stamps Blog - do please visit there to see more Samples from our Kim and the Design Team

The new stamps are so much fun to use and all can be used to layer up and over-stampI had a lot og fun with them xx

Today we get to show off to you

'Completely Conkers'

& 'Spritz and Speckles'

I had a lot of fun with these two sets I love the way they can be layered up and pieced together any way that you choose

My Example for 'Spritz and Speckles'

This simple birthday card I made using some of the stamps from the set layered over each other in opposite corners using 3 colours of Chalky Ink Pads (from my stash) I picked the colours to match a few papers I chose to use from a dark arty pad of backing papers I had but never know what to use them for - A few strips cut into banners and a piece used as a backing sheet were just enough (so I have plenty left for more cards later) I chose a lovely scallop edge cardblank but used this turned to the side so scallops are along the sides and bottom of the card. One of the banners I created using the border strip from the 'Fabulous Everything' stamp set from Paperbabe.

The border I cut from an offcut of micro corrugated paper from my offcuts box (a new habit I have taken up to use them up I sont like to waste anything) - the sentiment I made using some of the word stamps from the 'Fabulous Everything' stamp set.

I layered all the pieces together using all purpose glue and then wrapped some frayed burlap (from my stash) around the whole thing before fixing to the cardblank with 1mm thick foam tape.

My Example for 'Completely Conkers'

I really enjoyed making this Birthday Card this is such a cute set and can be used for so many occasions for absolutely anyone especially the Boys and Men in your life I know my Son's would love this one a lot.
I made a backing paper using the Leaf stamp from the set and some Autumn colours of Ink Pads from my stash. once dry I layered this paper using brown mirror board, wrapped some frayed burlap around the panel then fixed to a scallop cardblank using 1mm foam tape.
Using a smaller piece of stamping card I stamped 2 of the Conkers from the set using Chalky Ink Pads (I love that you get the two sections for each conker so you can layer colours easily), I stamped the conker strings, knots and bows using Memento Ink Pad in black. In opposite corners I stamped the leaf again with the Autumn colours Ink Pads. I then stamped the Smash-Rebound stamp using pale chalky inkpad to make the conkers look like they have just smacked together.
To finish I stamped the sentiment from the set on 'Smashing Birthday' the words are close together in the set to I inked the stamp first then wiped off the ink from Birthday so I could stamp just 'Smashing' first, next I stamped 'Autumn' just underneath, the repeated the ink and wiped off Smashing to stamp just 'Birthday' just underneath Autumn. (make sure to wipe all the ink off the word you don't want to stamp first or you will get marks on your card)

I hope you like what I have created using the new stamps thank you for stopping by see you again soon
