Don't be Afraid to Sparkle - Paperbabe Stamps Challenge - Picture Inspiration

Hiya and Welcome to my Blog

I'm so sorry that I have not been around much of late... I have been quite down but I am slowly starting to pick myself back up

Today is a Challenge Day over at the Paperbabe Stamps Blog so the Team has been busy making pretties to share with you

The theme of the Challenge is a 'Picture Inspiration'

Paperbabe Stamps Challenges are open to everyone...
As usual you are welcome to combine with other challenges.
Please be sure to link your project below for a chance to win Paperbabe Stamps Gift worth up to £20*

You can create any project you like as long as it is inspired by the picture below or the colour scheme etc.

Here's the Picture inspiration...for the challenge

For my Design Team Project I have picked out the colours from the colour scheme to use in my project. I made a cute little easel card that could be used for any occasion

I picked out a patterned backing paper, complementary coloured cardstock in colours similar to the colour scheme and some silver mirror board for layering.

I created the easel card using a 6x6 cardblank and half of another 6x6 cardblank this time with a scalloped edge.

The Backing paper I chose to use is A5 and I managed to make this card using only one sheet. First I trimmed a piece to a few mm smaller than the 6x6 cardblank to use on the base of the easel card i then layered using a green cardstock and silver mirror board. For the card front I trimmed a piece of lavendar cardstock to a few mm smaller than the scalloped edge, I then layered with silver mirror board. I trimmed the offcut from the A5 backing paper and attached to the left side of the card front.

I made the easel stopper using offcuts from the cardstock and papers, layer on top of each other and fixed in place using foam tape to created the raised stopper.

for the topper I cut a piece of linen cardstock which I then make an inky painty background using sage and pink inkpads, a waterbrush and an ink blender tool. I then stamped the Large Butterfly solid stamp (from the 'Butterfly Peridae' set) at a jaunty angle using a mauve ink. I added a sparkle trail using wet glue and dazzle dust glitter. I inked the edges using versamark ink which I then dipped into Snowflake Tinsel' embossing powder which i then heated using a heat gun.

I stamped and embossed the Large Butterfly details stamp (also from 'Butterfly Peridae') using versamark and the same embossing powder as before onto vellum. I fussy cut the butterfly, shaped the wings with a bone folder tool to created depth. i attached over the butterfly i had stamped previously using wet glue. The vellum butterfly gives the ellusion of movement to the wings. for the body i used a few little wooden substrate pieces from the 'Mixed Media blank accessories' pack.

To finish I stamped the 'Don't be Afraid to Sparkle' sentiment stamp and the little antenae using grey ink.

I fixed the finished topper to the card front using foam tape for dimension.

So, it's time to create anything, use the picture or colours as inspiration as always be sure you use at least one paperbabe stamps product in your creations, HAVE FUN, and don't forget to link your project over on the Paperbabe Blog

Christmas in August - with Bee Crafty Stamps

Hiya and Welcome to my Monday Post for Bee Crafty

Now that my Children's Birthday's are done its my tradition to begin my prep for Christmas which includes beginning my shopping plans for their gifts but also the start of my Christmas Cards so today I am sharing one of these new makes for the Festive Season...

I have used some of the Bee Crafty Stamps from the 'Yuletide' Collection

I created a background using the 'Yuletide' - Snowflakes' set along with light and dark blue chalk inks for some of the flakes and then clear embossing ink with a mixture of blue, silver pearl and tinsel white embossing powders which I then heated using a heat toolto create some texture, shine and sparkle.

I then stamped the 'Yuletide' - Believe' large sentiment using blue chalky ink which I sprinkled a little of the tinsel white embossing powder over. I trimmed the seniment, inked the edges by running a clear embossing ink pad accross them, I then dipped into tinsel while embossing powder to add sparkle. I matted the sentiment onto blue cardstock.

To finish my card I matted the background I created onto the same blue cardstock as the sentiment and attached this to a 7x7 card blank. I fixed the Sentiment to the card front using foam tape at a jaunty angle.

Next I repeat stamped the Snowflakes onto offcuts of cardstock in the same inks as before adding ebossing powders including some clear this time for the darker blue. I fussy cut them, used an embossing tool on the reverse of them to create dimention. I then arranged them at the corners of the sentiment layering them up a bit and adding gems to the centres. I added some extra gems to opposite corners of the card to finish

Bee Crafty Polymer Stamps - Star Flowers - Wake Wonderful - Warm Gold, Pink & Brown

Hiya and Welcome to my Monday Post for Bee Crafty
I have been struggling for the last few weeks to get making again after slowing down over the festive period... so this called for some much needed Inkiness and my lovely Bee Crafty Stamps
Today's colour theme is Pink, Brown & Gold I loved playing with my stencils, embossing powders and distress inks and I really hoped that this was the push I needed to get back to crafting - messy inky fun!! so of course it has helped xx
Here is my project for today using the lovely 'Fabulous Flowers -Star Flowers' and 'WORDage - Wake Wonderful'
I trimmed down a piece of white pearlised cardstock to ink onto. I first inked the whole piece using 'Abandoned Coral' distress ink, I used a heat gun to speed up the drying process. I inked around the edges again to bring in more colour. I then used one of Bev's brilliant techniques of laying a stencil over my work, spraying with water and then taking off the excess with tissue this added a lovely textured look into the coral background. I think inked through the stencil using 'Tea Dye' distress ink, lightly in some areas and darker in others. I then inked the edges using 'Tea Dye' and then 'Walnut Stain' distress inks to add some depth to the colours.
Using embossing ink I stamped the 'Star Flowers' into the corners but off the page as I wanted them to peek out a bit from the corners, I also stamped the edges using just the leafy swirl part of the stamp. I tipped gold embossing powder over the inked areas and then tapped off the excess, where the distress ink was a little wet still a dusting of embossing powder clung to it... a happy accident really though as I think it looks really pretty like that. I heated the powder using my White Heat Gun until it was all melted and shiney.
I stamped the 'Wake Wonderful' WORDage stamp onto the centre of the page using brown dye ink. I matted this inked up page onto some brown pearlescent cardstock from my stash and then mounted onto a 7x7 cardblank. I finished the card with some Brown and Gold Ribbons and some Brown Gems... I didnt have any brown so I coloured in a few plain white gems using an Alcohol Marker.
Thank You so much for visiting my Post Today i really appreciate it. Please visit again soon for some more Gorgeous Projects from our Amazing Bee Crafty Design Team xx

Design Team Make - Christmas Wordage 'Believe' - Bee Crafty

Hiya and Welcome to my Monday Post for Bee Crafty
I had a couple of weeks off due to being ill and half term with my 4 Kiddies taking me away from my Desk for far too long - but today I am back to where I love to be - in my Korner creating pretties
I have really gotten into making my Christmas Cards and most of those have been non-traditional colours - I love to mix it up a bit - this time I chose soft pink, brown and rich gold
The Bee Crafty products I have used are...
And - Distress Inks 'Spun Sugar', 'Tattered Rose' and 'Victorian Velvet' (all stocked on the Bee Crafty Webshop
I chose a 7x7 White Cardblank, and added some Matt & Layering using some pearlescent cardstock from my stash, the gold piece I used an embossing folder to create a swirly background.
With a small piece of Linen Cardstock I inked through the Star Template using Distress Inks 'Spun Sugar', 'Tattered Rose' and 'Victorian Velvet' to create the an ombre effect (lighter in the middle and darkening towards the edges)
I stamped The 'Believe' accross the Star at a jaunty angle using brown ink, the 'Splatter Swirl' border around the edge of the Linen Cardstock and then stamped the 'Snowflakes' into opposite corners using the brown ink and 'Victorian Velvet' distress ink.
I ran my embossing ink over the edges of the Linen Cardstock and dipped these edges into gold embossing powder then heated with my 'Heat Gun' (available from Bee Crafty's Webshop) to melt the powder and create the smooth gold finish. I also used my Embossing Ink Pen to draw a shadow around the 'Believe' word then heat embossed this in Gold too.
I hope you like my card today. I really do like how it turned out.

Tin Man - Art Tag - Tin Man - Design Team for Bee Crafty

Hiya and welcome to my Friday post for Bee Crafty
This week I have made a Tag using a few of my fave stamps
Bee Crafty stamps I have used are...
They are all available from the Bee Crafty STORE along with lots of other yummy products

First I stamped the Tin Man using grey ink into the centre of the tag, I then stamped again onto a piece of wide tape from my masking roll, which I cut around the Tin Man shape to make a mask. I was the Tin Man un-coloured for later
Next I stamped the Backdrops Border - Clover using clear embossing ink accross the bottom of the tag just touching the Tin Man's feet. I used silver embossing powder tipped over the front, tapped of excess powder and heated with a heat gun
Then I stamped the 'Da Vinci - Script' stamp over the whole tag using clear embossing ink and then used 'clear' embossing powder and heat embossed - the tag is very textured now with raised areas. I inked over using 'Weathered Wood' and 'Pumice Stone' Distress Inks over the tag
I used the leaf stamps from the 'BEAUtanicals - Maple Solid' to randomly stamp in the corners and down the sides of the tag
I added some random stamping of the 'BEAUtanicals - Cow Parsley' stamp in between the leaves. I took the masking tape off the tag to reveal the un-coloured Tin Man
I stamped the 'WORDage - Being Happy' off the edge of the tag so only the 'look beyond the Imperfections' line was on the tag. I heat embossed using silver embossing powder
I ran the clear ink pad over the tag edges and dipped into black embossing powder and heated with an embossing gun
I coloured the Tin Man using Alcohol Markers
Thank you for visiting today and I hope you come back soon to see more makes by me

I'm Glad I Did It - TinMan - Bee Crafty

Hiya and welcome to my Friday DT post for Bee Crafty
I have made a TinMan from the Wizard of Oz Collection card using Distress Inks and a mask

To create the background I tapped some ink from Stormy Sky distress inkpad onto a craft sheet then using water and a paint brush I used the ink as a watercolour across a piece of watercolour card.
Using an inking tool and Weathered Wood distress inkpad Ive inked the edges and in from the corners, more on the top left. Using a mask I sprayed water through it, this dilutes the ink just where the water hits through the mask. I added some salt which then moves the watery ink and creates a bit more texture look. I heated the card using a heat tool and then brushed the salt away. I cleaned the mask and then inked through it randomly using Weathered wood.

I stamped the TinMan using a grey inkpad, then coloured him using Weathered Wood distress ink and a waterbrush. Once dry I went over the shaded areas again with Weathered Wood to darken the colour.

Ive added embossed details in the Corners using clear embossing ink with white embossing ink and some more lush Bee Crafty stamps.... Yuletide - Holly Swirl, Beautanicals - Branches and Cow Parsley

I stamped WORDage - Glad I Did It using a grey inkpad in the area that the TinMan is looking so it looks like he is thinking the phrase
I hope you like my project today and that you will visit again soon to see some more gorgeous makes by the Bee Crafty Design Team

Dreams Come True - Bee Crafty DT Make

Hiya and welcome to my Friday post for Bee Crafty which is now my weekly posting day on the
Bee Crafty Blog
This week I got inky and messy with a load of my fave Bee Crafty stamps along with distress inks and embossing powder it was a lot of fun

The Bee Crafty stamps I have used are...
I trimmed a piece of gold Mirror Board to a few mm smaller than my 8x8 cardblank - I measure up against the card and make with a pencil at the length and width I like by eye then trim using a guilotine. I then did the same using a piece of patterned cardstock. I embossed the cardstock using a Burlap embossing folder and my die-cutting machine. Inked the edges of the cardstock using 'Frayed Burlap' Distress Ink and a mini round inking tool I also edged the cardstock with a dark brown alcohol marker
I fixed the gold Mirror Board to the cardblank using a strong glue and then fixed the embossed panel onto the card front using narrow foam tape

Next I trimmed a piece of watecolour card to about a cm smaller than the embossed panel all the way around then chose my inks and stamps to use
I stamped the 'Bubble Wrap' stamp using versamark ink, tipped clear embossing powder over, tapped off excess then heated with a heat gun leaving a glossy image on the card. I randomly stamped the 'Script', 'Maple' leaves 'Cow Parsley' and 'Branches' stamps around the edges and working in towards the centre with distress inks 'Tattered Rose', 'Victorian Velvet', 'Frayed Burlap' and 'Pumice Stone' - I wiped over the bubble wrap areas to reveal the uninked embossed areas. I inked the edges using 'Tattered Rose' and 'Frayed Burlap' inks I edged the card using a dark brown alcohol marker to match the other layer. Once dry I fixed the watercolour card panel to the card front

I was going to use one of the Fashionista's but after seeing how the background came out I thought it would be a shame to cover most of it - so I opted for a lovely sentiment instead I stamped the sentiment using brown ink and then using the Branches, Cow Parsley and Script stamps and similar random stamping as the background piece, inked edges and the matted onto gold Mirror Board. I fixed this topper I created to the cardfront using narrow foam tape

I really like how this one turned out and was a nice boost to my mucking crafting Mojo

Thank You so much for visiting the my blog today

I have stamped and inked around the edges using a few stamps from Paperbabe Sets... Baubles from 'Bottle Brush Trees', Bubbles & Peonie from 'Oriental Zen' - using Distress Inks 'Weathered Wood', 'Scattered Straw' and 'Antique Linen'

The cream panel in background I have used the same stamps but also the large spray from 'Spritz & Speckles' using just the 'Scattered Straw' and 'Antique Linen' inks. I also used Versamark embossing ink and Ranger 'Seafoam White' embossing powder to add texture

The Teal panel on the cardfront is teal Coredinations cardstock and a swirl embossing folder from Docrafts which I then sanded back to show the paler teal core

I matt & layered using Brown mirror board and wrapped a brown organza ribbon around the blue layer and cardblank before layering up the the other panels at jaunty angles.

I chose co-ordinating paper flowers and a resin flower and layer these up at the corners of the image

The sentiment stamp is from the 'Mayleedee Little Red' set
